Woman gets one year probation for drunken fight with flight attendants
TEXAS — A Texas woman got a year of probation, because last year she had a fight with flight attendants.
Amanda Nixdorf’s got probation on Tuesday, April 11th, related to a fight in July 2016 on an Emirates airline flight. Nixdorf, 27, was drinking heavily on the flight from Dubai to JFK when a flight attendant spotted her trying to steal alcohol.
When confronted about her sticky fingers, Nixdorf got mad, according to court papers. The flight attendants cut her off, but Nixdorf kept up the chaos, said prosecutors. She grabbed one attendant’s tie and kicked one in the stomach.
Nixdorf was eventually restrained with zip ties. When she later broke free, attendants tried restraining her again. In the struggle to restrain her again, one attendant suffered some bites on the forearm.
FBI agents arrested Nixdorf upon landing. Brooklyn Magistrate Judge Steven Tiscione gave Nixdorf the probation sentence Tuesday. The defense was hoping to spare jail time for Nixdorf and prosecutors didn’t object, crediting her efforts to get sober.
